The unfortunate passing of Gigobooma

by Matt » Sun Feb 04, 2024 6:24 pm

It is with deep sadness that we are making this announcement today.

Unfortunately, we have been made aware that Gigobooma (previously known as Eyce), has passed away and lost his battle with cancer on 19th January 2024.

Gigobooma is the creator of the Episode 3 Plus modification, of which Ragol.org bases its card definitions file off, and allows people to play with these new cards today online. I do not know if he was ever made aware this his modification would be played fully online in 2023 and 2024, but I would like to believe he was made aware of this and the amount of people he was able to introduce to Episode 3 with his retweaked changes that made the game more accessible for those who never tried it before.

I never had the opportunity to speak with Gigobooma directly, of which I am most regretful.

We offer our deepest condolences to the Bartlett family, for losing one of their family so soon to cancer, and you may find his obituary here: https://www.roseborosmortuary.com/obitu ... n-Bartlett

Gigobooma himself suffered from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, and if you are able, I would ask that you donate to a charity fighting this, such as:

(US) Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: https://www.lls.org/
(UK) Leukaemia UK: https://www.leukaemiauk.org.uk/support-us/donate-now/

(If you know of any more, please let me know)

In regards to the Episode 3 Plus modification, I have made some further improvements with the blessing of Gigobooma before he passed away, however there were going to be plans for some more drastic changes. Whether these will be released as a further Plus update or another project is yet to be determined.

Rest in Peace, John Bartlett.
