Quest Concept - The Lab

I'm looking at making a trade-in quest that allows players to trade in useless or unused currencies, and also obtain various unobtainables in the game. This won't be a fully fledged shop quest, as I don't plan to offer services from future PSO games that change the original gameplay loop (sorry folks, but you gotta hunt all your slots and stats yourselves as SEGA intended).

Things to offer:

  • Trade-in for Tsumikiri J-Sword
  • Trade-in for Guld Milla
  • Trade-in for Double Cannon
  • Trade-in for Safety Heart
  • Trade-in for Black Ring
  • Trade-in for ELENOR
  • Trade-in for Devil's Tail
  • Swap an ES Slicer to ES J-Cutter (because let's face it, having to do random and then forcing the type name is stupid)
  • Modify ES name
  • Modify displaying the ES type

And uh... anything else that sounds cool! Maybe the ability to combine your grinders or something?

Things that won't be added:

  • The ability to add attributes
  • The ability to add slots
  • The ability to add stats to items

Basically no actual progression in here other than the unobtainables!

Anyway the real question is, how should we make these obtainable?

TJS, Guld Milla, and Double Cannon are obvious - you at least have the related items, and then trade them in directly or with something else.
Safety Heart I'm not sure... anything that sounds cool?
Black Ring could possibly just be added to the drop tables with the other rings, but no idea what to trade for.

ELENOR should definitely make use of the Uru and Eno items on the drop table.
Devil's Tail could be made obtainable through the Special Gene "Flou" item

For the ES stuff, some sort of mostly unused quest currency would probably be ideal.

Any COOL ideas?

Maybe could use either of the WEAPONS badges for the ES stuff? I think there's two kinds of them and they both only get one thing I believe.

Hmm, there are unused currencies actually, I just kind of shied away from them since nothing stacks in V2 (there is nothing you can use like a Photon Drop).

I could make those drop from sources (quests or on the drop table (such as boxes)), and then use those as currency for some things.

So I got most of this up, the only thing I didn't mess with too much was S-Rank weapons, though I could implement some stuff for them later. Safety Heart I dropped onto the drop tables rather than the quest, as I felt that made more sense with Love Heart also being a drop.

If anyone has cool ideas for additions to this thing, that would be cool.
